We have spectacular views of the Sundays River and boasts with two decks from where sundowners can be enjoyed. We are on the Big Seven Route about 3 km from the new Southern gate to the Addo Elephant National Park and close to the major game reserves in the Eastern Cape.

The Sundays River Valley is home to the famous Addo elephants that once roamed the area freely, as well as mile after mile of evergreen citrus trees that bear fruit all winter and fragrance the air with their blossoms in spring. The Happy Jackal offers a choice of five luxurious double en-suite rooms, all with stunning Sundays River views.

Guests may choose from ground-floor rooms with private entrances and garden patios, or impressively large and comfortable thatched upstairs rooms, one of which has its own outside thatched deck.. All rooms enjoy upmarket facilities.

Recline in the spacious, high-roofed lounge, well-stocked with a collection of interesting books. Enjoy a game of chess or a board game by the cosy open fireplace on those chilly winter evenings. The Happy Jackal has a no-smoking policy for indoors.

On fine, calm mornings take time to enjoy at leisure a full, English and health breakfast outdoors, whilst watching the antics of our resident Egyptian geese and hoopoes. Stroll with your coffee down the rolling lawns to the water’s edge and plan your day.

Delicious evening meals, packed lunches and picnic baskets will be provided on request and will always include a variety of home-grown salads and vegetables. Home-baked bread, pastries and pies; home-cured gammons; home-made preserves will often appear alongside a variety of game dishes.

SUNDAYS RIVER MOUTH GUESTHOUSE

Sundays River Mouth Guesthouse is a luxury Self Catering or Bed and Breakfast Guesthouse consisting of a two bedroom upper-deck structure with a large wooden deck that has a view of the Sundays River.

Sleeps a Maximum of 7 persons Children under 8 years old NOT allowed due to the high quality of breakable equipment

Strictly a NON-SMOKING establishment

The Main Bedroom: Has 3 beds and is slightly larger than the second bedroom. Two beds are together and a single bed is provided for an extra guest.

The bedroom has a large sliding door opening onto a large wooden deck that has a direct view of the Sundays River.

Open plan lounge and dining room
Very large open plan air-conditioned lounge and dining room consisting of a six seater high quality ‘Lounge Suite” and 6 seater high-back glass and stainless steel “Dining Room Suite”. A separate king size double sleeper couch. Huge new HD - LCD 40” (inch) “Flat Screen TV” with HD – VCR payer. The theme of the lounge area is Charcoal/Red with all stainless steel equipment.

Fully equipped “Open Plan Kitchen” with combination gas and electric equipment all in high quality stainless steel.

Whisky displayed in a “cut glass” canister with Polish made glasses is there for the tasting with compliments of the house. There is also an in-house “Honesty Bar” that stocks good quality Whisky, Brandy and Vodka available to the guest who requires this facility and is prepared to use the “Honesty Box”.

Lounge has two large sliding doors leading out to the entertainment deck.

Facilities on the deck include a “Cadac Kettle Braai” and a small stainless steel “Braai” as well as two tables and 8 chairs. Braai wood and charcoal not included.

Small separate toilet and shower servicing the establishment. Safe undercover parking for vehicle.
